Premium ticket experience?

I'll be visiting from the States twice over the next few months. I'm considering purchasing a premium ticket hospitality package (obviously, excellent seats to view the game), but wonder if the atmosphere is more stale in this section. Does anyone have experience they can share? Is it worth it or would I be better off securing a ticket in a regular section?

I did it years ago and didn't like it. It may have improved for all I know. In general at Selhurst - best atmosphere is the Holmesdale or Arthur. Don't exactly expect 'premium' at all though in these - you're lucky to get to the loo without getting crushed and wading through piss. Forget about a drink at half time too. Go about 10-15 minutes before half time ( we're usually behind by then) and you can get a pie and a drink.

Someone else must have done this recently? Mine was about twenty years ago.

Last time I did this was Brentford game last season, August 21 I think it was.

I booked the 2010 Club which was the most expensive option. We used our Covid refunded season ticket money. Since then I believe that a new catering head has come in.

To summarise ;

You are seated in the ' Directors Box ' seats. Decent enough view, but if it's atmosphere you want, you won't find much here. I was seated next to Brentford fans that were on a corporate jolly. ( to be fair, they were fine ).

I'd been to the 2010 before, so knew what to expect - or so I thought. First up they showed us to a table that I had before but then moved us to a different room and sat the 4 of us underneath a big tv - we couldn't hear ourselves think ! I got them to turn the sound down after they eventually found the remote.

Service was Amateur Hour. Beers were flat. They failed to provide a vegetarian option for the main meal. They ran out of time to serve dessert, which is when I ran out of patience. I complained and was told that a bottle of champagne would be waiting for us at half time as compensation. We enjoyed that, and at full time were surprised to see another one waiting for us - which I think was another mistake on their part.

Overall, it wasn't worth the money at close to ( I think ) £350 per person.

I sent in a written complaint / account of our day and received an apology and the offer of 20% of our next booking. I haven't taken them up on that.

As an aside, I had a quick chat with John Textor that day. He struck me as reasonably knowledgeable about football.

Mine wasn't with the current owners but sounds basically the same. I remember the food being ok not great, the staff slow, the beer poor and the atmosphere flat. I think you got to theoretically meet the players in the Glaziers Lounge but I was so jaded with the whole thing - plus we lost - I didn't bother. I'm trying to remember which particular no hoper it was but can't.
