Apropos De Boer I can only re-iterate that no manager is removed of his duties after 4 league games on results alone.

In terms of Pardew we had been defeated in 8 of his previous 10 games, we had a porous defence and we were 17th after 17 games and had only attained 15 pts when he was shown the door.Besides the transfer window was approaching and there was over half the season remaining.

I was looking at the league table this morning and I noted with interest that in the last six games ALL of the teams below us had accrued more points than us in that period. If things remain the same, it's only a matter of time.

What is also concerning is that some of the teams below us in the table are actually winning games.

For instance, Bournemouth have won 2 of their last 4 PL games, Everton have won 3 of their last 7 PL games with Dyche at the helm and Southampton have emerged victorious in 2 of their last 3 PL games.

Freedman was a failure as a manager in the Championship so what makes you think he will be more successful in the much tougher Premier League

In normal circumstances with a run like this and poor quality of football (ie. No shots on target in the last 3 matches), the manager would be on the brink.

However, I have zero confidence in the board having any contingency in place should the inevitable poor form continue. They should have been planning what to do if this poor form hasn't turned around. But I highly doubt it given the debacles we have had reciting a new manager in the summer. Remember Vieira only got this job because others turned it down.

We haven't beaten any team above in the table all season. Teams in the bottom half won't consistently beat sides in the top half but there is the odd result. Bournemouth beat Liverpool yesterday which lessens our home draw with them (seeing as they won 1-0, then they must have registered at least one shot on target). Forest managed a draw against City a few weeks ago at home, so it can be done.

What is our attitude and mentality going into these games. Are we waiting for inevitable loss, or praying to hold out for a draw ?

I fear for the future if he stays, but fear we have no alternative.

I’m not saying he will be and not saying I want him just saying if viera was to be sacked is he a choice?

De Boer, Pardew, were sacked for less. IF Parish is true to form and there is no improvement in the next couple of games (the stats are damning) then Vieira is a goner.

The disappointing thing is that we’ve gone backwards since last season or indeed the early part of this season. He did remarkably well to change the squad and style of play last season and we had reasons to believe we could push on. Sadly we’re back to playing defensive football with a team of young attack minded players. To be fair we’ve had the longest run of games against top half teams and with a bit of luck could have had a win or two. The acid test will be how we play against the teams currently below us in our final 9 games. Can we change style and attack with intent or by that stage are we so afraid of relegation that we continue to play they way we are at present?

I don’t think PV will/should be sacked if we lose to the Weed(unless it’s a thumping) or the Arses. Losing at home to Leicester on the other hand….

The difficulty in setting up more conservatively, as we have been doing in recent weeks, is if you still don’t get results then you’ve nowhere to go.
Would we be better off going all out for wins as a win is equivalent to 3 draws in points terms and you can climb the table quickly.
People have spoken about a tough run of fixtures, but they included Fulham, Newcastle and Brighton at home and Brentford and Villa away.
Surely that’s not that daunting.
I know I’m saying this in hindsight and that there are plenty of advocates for ‘respect the point,’ but at the moment we are competitive without ever looking like winning.
Everton have won three of their first home games 1-0 under Dyche , akin to how we performed under Pulis.
That’s 9 points while we’re scratching around for a point here and there.
It’s all well and good saying we have 9 winnable games coming up, but on recent evidence what is this based upon?

i would agree to giving PV a few more games. We played well against Liverpool and Citeh....and got unlucky with the latter.

i would have less criticism for the manager, and more criticism for some of our players. Wilf skimmed a beautiful assist across the box....into a no mans land with not one Eagle within 20 yards.

Our desire to attack seems to be frozen in a fear of conceding.

Bonkers to even contemplate sacking Vieira. Results are partly as a result of lack of discipline with occasional lapses leading to the conceding of typically one defining goal per game e.g. Villa + Man City. We all know that Achilles heel has long been the acquisition of a quality forward. Much huff and puff and commitment from all in the team however lack of quality in final third has cost us dearly. Several draws against top teams of late should not be taken for granted.

I believe there is a realisation that at this juncture of the season, there will be no suitable candidates who would be willing to accept the challenge.

PV was brought in to take the club to the next level.
The general standard of ability within the team is far higher than any other team we have had since being promoted.

PV has no ambition to beat any of the "big clubs", something which we are more than capable of doing.

80 mins of sitting behind the ball, brought on Eze and the team looked for capable of getting forward.

PV since being in charge has NEVER seen the potential in the squad he has.

past prem managers for us would have loved to have had this team.

PV is well out of his depth and has to go...
