Wonder what Einstein would be thinking about Vieira, reference to insanity ,in doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!!
Potentially, thirteen games without a win,no shots on goal in over 300 minutes says it all and two probable defeats coming our way??
Surely,we deserve better than this ??
Time to wake up SP.and Board (Bored!!) and smell the coffee.

As I have stated before it would be a stupid decision to dismiss PV on the results of playing the top half teams twice and the bottom half teams only once. The leagues are decided over the complete season. Our performances have not been the free flowing victories which we all want but we as a club we are not financially able to put together a team that will perform in that way. It will be totally unfair to dismiss PV without giving him the opportunity to pick up points against the bottom half teams and I doubt the board will think differently especially that there is no guarantee that any incoming manager will do any better with the squad we have.COYP

The big question Brinscall, is it the players or is it the manager. I would argue this isn’t a bad squad, but it’s playing like one. We have two strikers neither of which has been given an extended run and in particular I would have given Edouard more of a chance. Are they both bad players or are they devoid of confidence and whose fault is that.

I don't buy this at all. Pulis and Hodgson (first season in particular) got more out of the squad than the previous incumbents. Both managers had the players playing like a team with a work rate to match. Vieira's team looks like a loose bunch of individuals wondering what the plan is, and the drop in work rate is visible to all.
Although Vieira can't influence the money spent on transfers, he can at least make the players run around with a bit more effort, and devise a game plan that attempts to win matches.

It is a valid question is it the players or the squad. Last season we were happy with the Manager and this season we have brought in some different players changing the dynamic of the group but the manager has stayed the same. I am not sure which it is but I am leaning towards supporting PV over the players .I agree it isn’t a bad squad but the balance is perhaps not there. This is why I am prepared to let PV continue against the so called lesser teams before judging him. I accept it may be too late then but it will only be because the other teams are better.COYP

True both managers made changes to improve the teams and it seams that most managers get an initial surge but not many maintain it until the squad is improved. I fear a lot of our players are not the workrate type which I think is why PV continues to play Schlupp and Ayew. The likes of Eze Olise and Edouard appear to have more skill levels than workrate and unfortunately both skill sets are needed to unlock defences and score goals. However we are where we are and it is probably a mix of things but let’s not put it all on PV’s shoulders and give him the benefit of the doubt until the full fixture list has been completed. This site is all about opinions, but I don't think it is helpful to dismiss Vieira Out views as crazy. I am happy to listen to other views, and still hope that PV turns it round (though I would not have given him any more chances). The reasons I think he should go are:
1. We keep excusing our results by saying it has been a difficult run of games. That is okay for a few games, but not for a run as long as ours. It is a fact that almost everyone below us has beaten one of the big teams despite the odds. We have not.
2. The failure to register a shot on target for more than 300 minutes betrays a complete failure of attacking strategy. We are failing, yet not attempting any changes. Maybe our strikers are not the best (but to me Edouard could still prove a valuable asset), but the issue is not missing chances, it's failing to create anything, despite having 3 high-quality flair players.
3. I don't think PV has been well-supported in the last few transfer windows, but in Guaita, Andersen, Guehi, Doucoure, Zaha, Eze and Olise we have a nucleus of players who ought to be playing for a top-half team. We should not be barely able to create a chance and currently both the worst and the most boring team in the league.

I would love to be proven wrong with a great last 12 games where we pick up 20 points (even then worse than last season), but to me that could only happen with someone else in charge. To my mind regardless of what long-term managerial options are available, we need a new manager bounce which could do enough to save us from what, to me, is starting to look inevitable. I don't buy the argument that when we play the lower half teams we will suddenly be able to score. Change is required now in my view.

I too am concerned that when we play the lower half teams that we will suddenly be able to score and we will need to in order to survive but if we don’t score goals it will be,in my opinion, because our forward players are not good enough not that PV is a bad manager. COYP

What about 0-3 at home to Fulham, 0-1 away to Forest and not to forget the humiliation at home to Brighton in spite of Tomkins' lucky header?
Tonight I will NOT get up Thai time to watch Deunk operate as a Beckenbauer running the game, with our front men paralyzed as soon as the ball leaves our own half.

Seen a league table that ranked clubs on points per million spent and we was 3rd, if the club doesn't want to compete financially then it doesn't take long to get left behind in this league. I still think viera has done as good a job as expected tbh, take zaha out and I think our squad is average to poor. 1 lb and 2 strikers in a squad of 25 is not good enough.

I am probably in a minority view but I think PV is a big asset to Palace.
All teams go on bad runs and in the PL, given its competitiveness, it can very easily happen.
For me PV displays gravitas, a calmness of temperament, tactically sound and - as far as one can tell - has the respect of the players. He also works well with young players, which was one of the reasons why he was appointed in the first place, and seems a definite draw for potential recruits in the transfer market.
Net net, I appreciate recent results have been poor but I have confidence in him to turn it around and get Palace back on the front foot again.
