We were good in periods, Wilf sloppy on two first goals, Doucoure no harsh tackles (but still good), why Luka for Hughes and Waard for Clyne?
All in all, not hopeless from our lads. Scoring and shots on target for a change. Let's hope Paddy & co can start working without the manager issue, that Guita and Andersen are fit for next game, Hughes will get his chance to start and Ayew is kept far away from the turf.

Absolutely , and we really do have to come together , Selhurst must be a f@ckin fortress for the Leicester game , and regardless of our opinions on players we know we can drag the ball into the net

I couldn't back this statement strongly enough.

I get the intense debate and high emotions, really I do. I also understand our PL status has drawn a demographic I have never seen before at Selhurst, it's almost surreal occasionally. As has been said by a few, we can b!tch and whine til the cows come home but with our backs truly against the wall our club and fans have always rallied well and I hope to see that again and soon.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I watched the game on True TV here (every EPL game shown live for a mere fraction of the cost of the UK providers). Our work rate was higher and we were unlucky not to have scored at least 2 goals but many players still continue to disappoint. Edouard has the first touch of a pinball machine and no confidence in front of goal. Mitchell has regressed from a promising player to a liability. Olise is too easily bounced off the ball, reminds me of Max Meyer in this respect. Wilf, although a shadow of his past, was our best player and unlucky not to score. I hope that our keeper's confidence doesn't suffer too much from having a defence in front of him that switches on and off like a light .

The result and performance were probably as expected against probably the best team in the land. The plus's for me include how well Guehi is playing. Over the last few games he has been magnificent and he has been a great signing. Defensively Olise tracked back to good effect and Zaha going forward looked back towards his best. Whitford has not been overawed since making his debut.
Negatives - Olise going forward had a fair bit of the ball but was very very wasteful. What is apparent and has been most of the season is that as a team we are poor at regaining possession. This is something for the new manager to address. I know we talk about missing Gallager for his pressing but we also miss Kayoute ability to win tackles. We can defend deep and put bodies between our goal and the opponents but it is often not until they miss an attempt we get the ball back and then we end up going long because we are under pressure only to give up the ball to easily.

For the remainder of the season we'll mostly be facing teams which are our equals in quality but who'll be playing their hardest to avoid the drop. Our fate lies in the hands of the players, not the manager, and in their determination to play with pride and purpose.

As one who has never visited Selhurst Park, and may never have the chance to do so, I hope our fans will play their part – supporting the team with passion and positive spirit.

After this expected defeat I am reasonably confident of our survival chances.

It makes sense to me to keep Paddy on for the rest of the season as long as he doesn't repeat the mistake of putting Tomkins in to replace Andersen - Richards is the more mobile CH. I also thought Clyne would have been better than the aging Ward.

We looked more like a football team than of late and I hope he will introduce Hughes when fully fit and utilise Ahamada as the attacking midfielder we so desperately need.

In short, be more adventurous: play Richards at right back and for heavens' sake - up the fitness training and mobility levels - we look knackered after 30 minutes !
