Crystal Palace bowed out of the Carling Cup with a 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
The Londoners went in front after 31 minutes as Jobi McAnuff's cross from the left was diverted into his own net by Franck Queudrue from six yards.
Boro's Mark Viduka levelled after taking advantage of a sloppy pass from Mikele Leigertwood and blasting in a 20-yard rocket on 52 minutes.
And three minutes later, Viduka set up Szilard Nemeth who rifled home from an acute angle to make it 2-1.
Palace: Speroni, Boyce, Hudson, Popovic, Borrowdale, Andrews, Leigertwood, Watson, McAnuff (Black 74), Johnson (Morrison 45), Macken (Freedman 75). Subs Not Used: Kiraly, Ward.
