Palace midfielder Stuart Green will be sidelined for at least six weeks after a shoulder operation.
Green, a £75,000 summer signing from Hull, went under the knife yesterday after suffering the injury at Sunderland last month.
Green’s surgery leaves boss Peter Taylor facing a midfield injury crisis as he is already without injured duo Jobi McAnuff and Ben Watson, as well the suspended Tom Soares for Saturday’s crunch clash against Birmingham.
Taylor said: “Stuart Green is going to have a shoulder operation so he will be out for about six weeks.
“Jobi’s going to be struggling. Tom came in and played really well then got sent off, which is incredibly frustrating and Ben pulled a thigh muscle at the end of training.”
