Crystal Palace reserves suffered a 2-1 reverse away to Watford.

Palace's line-up was mostly made up of Academy youngsters including fit-again winger James Dayton and John Bostock.

The Hornets fired themselves into a 21st minute lead after a mix-up in the Palace defence.

Arron Fray's weak back pass to keeper Ben Lewis meant he had to rush out of his area to head clear. But the ball landed at the feet of Billy Gibson and the Watford player lobbed Lewis to score.

Ashley-Paul Robinson levelled matters 10 minutes after the break by nodding home Ben Kudjodi's pin-point cross from six yards.

But Liam Henderson sealed the winning goal in the 75th minute with a low strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Palace: Lewis, Howe, (Dalhouse 63), Fray, Swaibu, Clyne, Spence, Robinson, Bostock, Dayton (Charles 73), Cadogan (Djilali 72) Kudjodji.

Not used: Thorp, Comley.
