Crystal Palace pair Lee Hills and Darryl Flahavan have joined League One Oldham on a month's loan.
Both players have been unable to force their way into Neil Warnock's side and the manager sees the move as a chance for them to get much needed match time.
Hills, 19, has made just four substitute appearances this term with Clint Hill above the youngster in the pecking order at left-back.
The outstanding form of goalkeeper Julian Speroni means that Flahavan, 30, has had to make do with a place on the bench each week.
Warnock said: "Lee and Darryl are on their way up as we speak to Oldham Athletic to agree loan moves. We see this as a perfect opportunity for both players to get much needed game time and there is no better way of doing that than to play regular first team football.
"Obviously they have both featured heavily for the reserves this year but, with all due respect to the sides in that division, the quality is not at the level we would like our first team pros to be playing at, so this move is beneficial for both parties."
