Neil Danns grabbed a brace in Crystal Palace's 2-0 win at home to Peterborough.
The midfielder's goals secured a vital three points for Neil Warnock's side after they were this week docked 10 points for going into administration.
Palace were without Victor Moses who was banned from playing by the administrators in case an injury scuppers a big money move.
Posh created the first chance as Palace keeper Julian Speroni had to be alert to save Lee Frecklington's shot.
Right-back Danny Butterfield, who was moved up front as a striker, went close to putting Palace ahead after dispossessing Tom Williams and shooting into the side-netting. He then set up Darren Ambrose but the midfielder missed his kick.
Nathaniel Clyne had to clear Chris Whelpdale's header from a George Boyde corner off the line as Peterborough threatened.
But Palace went ahead on 28 minutes when Butterfield headed on Clyne's cross and Danns hooked the ball behind him and into the back of the net.
In the second half, Butterfield fired over from five yards from a Lee Hills long throw before Danns extended his side's advantage in the 65th minute.
The former Birmingham player chested down Ambrose's pass and turned and shot past Joe Lewis.
Boyd drew a smart save out of Speroni late on, but Palace wrapped up an important three points that leaves them sixth bottom.
