Crystal Palace exited the FA Cup at the first hurdle with a 2-1 loss at Coventry.
The Eagles made a stirring second half comeback after Freddie Eastwood and Carl Baker put the hosts ahead early on.
Neil Danns pulled a goal back at the end but then missed a penalty which would have levelled the scores as Coventry survived to book their place in the fourth round.
Coventry came roaring out of the blocks with Lukas Jutkiewicz nodding against the bar before Eastwood got the first goal, putting away Gary McSheffrey's pull back on 15 minutes.
Two minutes later, Eastwood crossed for Baker to unleash a brilliant volley beyond Julian Speroni in the Palace goal.
Palace came out after the restart with renewed vigour and wasted two great chances when Andy Dorman put an effort wide and Danns headed over.
But with nine minutes to go, they got right back into the tie through Danns after keeper Keiren Westwood had saved his initial strike.
The Londoners were then awarded a penalty two minutes later after Stephen O'Halloran had hauled down sub Wilfried Zaha, but Danns saw his weak spot kick saved. He then missed a header to equalise from two yards when it would have been easier to score.
