Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan is attracting interest from a number of clubs including Brighton.
Brighton reportedly tabled a £250,000 bid for the Irish player who rarely featured for the first team in the second half of last season.
Eagles boss Dougie Freedman said: "Brighton have enquired about Owen but I'm reluctant to let him go because he is such a good player.
"He didn't find himself in the team at the end of last season but I'm sure if he comes back and gets his head down that his quality will shine through. Time will tell if that is in our team or someone elses."
Garvan's agent Paul Goddard added: "Owen is a quality player and there has been interest from a number of other clubs."
Meanwhile, Bournemouth are believed to be running the rule over Eagles centre half Adam Barrett.
