Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"At the moment things aren’t going well, so it’s a big bear we’ll have to fight. It isn’t about me. It really is about Newcastle, and us trying to get three points.

"I want them to stay up. Those players are close to me. A lot of them I managed there and I’ve been through a lot with those guys on the pitch — and off it too with one or two of them.

"I’m desperate they stay up. But my job is to get the three points for Crystal Palace. That’s what my professional head will do.

"Emotionally I want them to stay in the division, but that doesn’t mean I want to let Norwich down, or Sunderland down. I wouldn’t be doing my job."

Rafael Benitez

"Everybody knows what it means to play in that final. When you are there, you have to be careful. I don't see any player saying 'I don't care about the final'. I am sure they will be thinking about it.

"It's normal when you're in the final. Players are thinking if they pick up an injury, they can't play, so it's in the back of their heads."
