4-4 draw just after New Year in 87/88.

4-2 up at half time with Wright running riot.

2nd half, George Wood decides to pass the ball to a Leicester player who duly puts it into the back of the net. Before you know it, it's 4-4.

It was the straw the broke the camels back and poor old Georgie was put out of his misery and we signed Perry Suckling.

Remember Wright literally snarling at Wood even minutes after his mistake. There was obviously history there as we learnt from his book.

Remember this game only too well.
I can still see George Wood racing from his goal to make a clearance near the touch line. Next thing we know he's passed it straight to a Leicester forward who passed it into an empty net from 35 yards.
Talk about totally gutted.
If I remember rightly, Glen Pennyfather scored in that game too. Anyone remember him

Now watching Dorking Wanderers

1964-65 season - we met Leicester in the league cup. We drew at their ground then lost 1-2 at Selhurst. But, they were a 1st division side then and we had only just arrived from Div 3.
