Was on Sky news this morning that the e-cigarette may be available on prescription on the NHS.

The thought being that it is 20 x safer than normal smoking and a good way to be weened of the evil weed, thus saving the NHS millions.

I smoked for years and eventually gave up with the aid of nicotine patches, but I GAVE UP.

The problem I have with e-cigarettes is are we just intoducing an unknown into the equation?
I imagine that they are no more harmful than the daily use of your mobile phone, or a couple of pints, but are you as contributers to the NHS happy to pay for someone elses addiction?

That may be a moot point as all you non-smokers out there pay for it as do all you smokers out there on the taxes you pay per packet.

Although personally I don't mind smoking, I still agree with the Beatles parole.

What is the difference between prescribing e-cigs or those nicotine inhaler thingy's that they already do prescribe? Answer: the e-cigs last longer and cost less than 2/3rds of the price............

As someone who's switched to the an 'e-cig' approach, I think this is a great idea, as I pay about 12-16 a month for liquid for my vapouriser.

Which means the NHS would make a profit on the prescription (which it does with quite a few medications, that would be a lot cheaper to buy directly).

What's the matter with you people - just use a bit of will power and self-discipline.

Do you use liquid containing nicotine to vape with or non nicotine?

Presently a blend, increasingly less nicotine. But the nicotine fluid is still 12 for 4 bottles, easily enough to last a month (at retail).

I tried that, but my workmates complained when I put the ball gag on.
