Can't help but think back and when we were on our winning streak, Ledley was a regular in the side. His sole job was sitting in front of back 4, breaking things up and keeping everything ticking. Protection. JM and YC are great players...but neither like to have that very sole focus.

When he was dropped to bench about coincides with us shipping goals?

Coincidence? Or am I clutching?

Cabaye has not been a great player for us ,we never win when he is on the pitch at the final whistle.Take him out put put Ledley in and Fryers at left back.

Also Cabaye did not play in two of those wins , and we came from behind against Sunderland when he went off the pitch in the third win.

Is it coincidence ?

Massively underwhelmed since he signed. 80k a week is scandalous. Get Ledley back in ASAP

Ledley has also been awful in a couple of games, Liverpool especially. He is not a DM and seems to play best when playing one-touch passes in the middle of the park. He struggles as soon as he gets pressed.

got nothing against ledders. he does try, but his form hasnt been good of late. a useful squad player, but not a regular starter imo.

I think the OP has a point. Surely one of the reasons we are conceding so many goals, particularly at set pieces is the lack of height of MacArthur and Cabaye. In theory our current back four has probably never been taller but we are shipping more goals than ever before. We need a tall DM and at the moment Ledley is all we have. Yes he will get shown up by the better teams but he has a role to play against teams at our level.

That is key. Before the first international break Ledders was performing a similar role to the one he fulfills for Wales.

Since then, not so well
