Have we given away lots of goals at corners by not having someone on the back post, it seems to have been a frequent mistake, it happened again at the Cherries, seems a bit of a basic mistake, and has cost us some valuable points?

If Wan-Bissaka had done his job instead of ball watching there wouldn't be this debate. But he is only young and inexperienced and these things happen with such players.

Also why on earth did we have 2 players on the edge of the area nearest the corner taker NOT marking anyone instead of inside the danger area in the box ?

Kris Kamara did comment on us not defending the corner with more bodies in the six yard box when we were winning 2-1 with mins left to go.

I don’t know exactly how much of this is down to our shoddy defending of corners, but I do know that we have dropped 10 points by conceding goals in the last 15 minutes. If we had seen out the games better, we would now be 9th in the table on 41 points.

I think he generally stands an the front post to head out anything too short. If the ball goes over him it should be snaffled by Hennessey; if it's high enough to clear him you need someone to clear it from the far end of the six-yard box.

Benteke normally protects the near post at corners.
Tim Sherwood said that generally the best headers of the ball are at the near post.

We have no ball retention, shows in all of our games, particularly with the bigger clubs, inviting pressure. Panic ensues late in games and this lack of keeping the ball is accentuated.

Should always have a player on the back post, schoolyard stuff as seen with the Spuds etc.
