So Palace are taking a look at Fedor Smolov at the moment. This 28yo, 2016 Russian player of the year is a centre forward who is happy on either wings if required. Current value of £14.4m will he make a good edition to the Palace squad??

I was a fan but didn't like the way he moved at the World Cuo. Seems old by the way he runs. Close to 29, I think his best years are behind him. Would command a big fee too, the Russians don't sell cheap

I could point out that playing in the WC is a bit different to playing 38 games throughout the season in the EPL. I could also point out that if a player is not great in this ‘shop window’ but is a good club player his price would be more reasonable. On that basis let’s hope RLC flops in Russia!
