I think it's a crime, no less. Sane has been one of the best 7 attacking players in the world last season, up there with Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, Neymar, Griezmann and de Bruyne. Who else was better than him? Sterling? Please. Isco? Bale has played now and then. Dybala? Ribery? Kane is a center forward, obviously he will score more goals, but definelty not as good a creator as Sane. Same goes for Icardi or Aguero or other strikers.

Not taking Sane to the World Cup when the German national team is clearly lacking speed and movement in attack (see the latest matches and losses) is a crime! Low has proven he's a total idiot. The 2014 success was due to having a really good generation, with players from Bayern and Borussia who were dominating football at the time. It wasn't Low's success. I remember he was also frustrating fans back in 2014 too using Howedes as left back the entire tournament. Yes, they won it, but only because they lacked real oposition and faced a team with no defensive tactical awareness in the semifinal. Spain went out fast, Germany was the team left with the best generation of tactically savvy players.

Perhaps Sane is a hard head and not easy to manage, but it's inexcusable to leave him at home. To deprive yor national team of one of the top 7 or top 10 players in the world at this moment. As a manager, you have to know to talk to a 22 year old player and make him do the things you want him to do. It's not like Sane doesn't run back to do defensive work! He does. It's incomprehensible to take flop Ozil, who never runs and simply looks at the opponents on the pitch and not take Leroy Sane!!

Or Rudy! What's Rudy doing in the squad? He has hardly played for Bayern this year! And how many central midfielders did he take? They got Khedira, Kroos, Gundogan, Rudy and Goretzka!! Low mostly used Goretzka as a side midfielder in the national team. Seriously?? He's taking Goretza as a side midfielder instead of Sane?? Goreztka, who is played as a central midfielder at club level!
They look like they'll be heading out very fast. I can't see anyone, ANYONE, in the German national team better than Sane. Maybe Werner, but that's debatable. After they'll be eliminated, there will be much talk about this, Low will bring up hidden points like Sane wasn't good in the locker room, he caused problems, real reasons why he didn't pick him, he'll try to justify himself. But it won't make a difference. People will know the truth: Low is an incompetent! Imagine the Portuguese manager not picking Ronaldo because he's hard headed and arrogant!! Or the Argentina manager not picking Messi!

Sane has 12 caps for Germany, but he hasn't scored and has also only got 1 assist.Low did say that perhaps Sane hadn't fully arrived in terms of International football and it would appear he feels he is not yet ready to be thrust on to the big International stage.

when Germany won in 2014, i said it was more the result of Klinsman's changed to the youth system over a decade before than Low's ability as manager.

The Germans aren’t known as fools on the International stage, their record speaks for itself.

Well, 6 of those 12 caps came when he was 19 or 20. Really young and not that developed. The other 6 games with 1 assist came this year and 3 of them were against Spain, England and Brazil, tough fixtures in which the German national team only managed to score once. So it wasn't entirely his fault.

I think now at 22 this was his moment though, at this World Cup he would have massively improved his record for the NT. Especially against lower adversaries like the ones in the group. He's coming after a great year with Man City and he's on fire assisting. He would have made the difference for Germany.

With respect, I wasn't labelling any criticism at the door of Sane just providing the facts.
His talent is there for all to see and admire.

At the end of the day the experienced Low has decided that other options are more advantageous to the national team.

Germany under Low won the last WC, they have been semi-finalists twice in the European Championships and they lifted the FIFA Confederations Cup last year - perhaps he is better qualified than us to form judgements about such matters ! Conversely, even the best managers make errors of judgement from time to time ! Time will tell.

Anyone would have taken the German national team to the semifinals! They have a good generation, Low didn't do anything. They won in 2014 because there was no one else to win. Brazil had no tactical awareness like the Europeans had. Germany had the most talent, maybe just behind Spain, but Spain went out very fast in 2014. So Germany had the most chances to win it.

Low is a scam. Put him in a lower team to see how he does. He's great because he won the WC with Germany? Raymond Domenech got second place with France. Where is that guy now? What a scam he was! Bert van Marvijk played the final with the Netherlands when Sneider and Robben were playing Champions League finals and were at their peak and after that he floped everywhere as coach.

Out of interest do you believe you are more qualified to make judgements regarding the composition of the German National Team squad than the person you describe as a "Scam" ? A person who has been manager of Germany for nearly 12 years.

I believe anyone is more qualified than a person who leaves Leroy Sane out of his squad. Why do you think all these managers became managers? Do you think they are really smart or good at what they do? No. It's mostly about connections and influence, Low became manager of Stuttgart because he had played for that team and the owner knew him and became national team manager because Klinsmann had met him years earlier at a coaching school.

Mourinho became manager because he had connections with Bobby Robson. Most former players become managers because they were big players and have influence. What has Lampard done in managing to deserve being named as Derby County manager?

Dear me - Here's me thinking this was a serious debate!

Low has explained his reasons and has stated it was a very close call.He believes that Brandt has taken to International football more than Sane and is more diligent in his defending, besides the team are not short of attacking options.Low is far better qualified than me on this matter and I respect his decision.

Apropos Low and Stuttgart, he just wasn't catapulted in as the manager. He was Assistant and became Caretaker, then manager, after the manager left to become a national team manager.

You mentioned Mourinho and his connections with Bobby Robson - he hasn't done too badly !

We are just going to have to agree to disagree.
