Ok then, this is very revealing. The act itself was nearly identical to the recent event outside of Parliament. In both no one died but people were injured, the weapon was a car and the motive a cultural intolerance. So what distinguishes a terrorist event from an 'attack'? And why was the Parliament event the first news item yet this barely makes the print edition? I chose my words carefully to make the exact point you are highlighting. Language and words are important, and terrorism is a particularly slippery and controversial term. So I'll repeat, just for clarity: this was an act of terrorism. Ok then, this is very revealing. The act itself was nearly identical to the recent event outside of Parliament. In both no one died but people were injured, the weapon was a car and the motive a cultural intolerance.

So what distinguishes a terrorist event from an 'attack'? And why was the Parliament event the first news item yet this barely makes the print edition?

I chose my words carefully to make the exact point you are highlighting. Language and words are important, and terrorism is a particularly slippery and controversial term. So I'll repeat, just for clarity: this was an act of terrorism.

I don't know what the definition of terrorism is but it is clear that this was a cowardly act by a group of people who were drunk and or on drugs. This was not a well thought out political act but an angry response by these toads when they were asked to move on by people from the mosque. Now if the police uncover evidence that these individuals went to that mosque with the sole purpose of provoking an incident by their disgusting behavior and then "retaliating" I would call that terrorism. At the moment it looks nothing more than a typical thuggery by low lifes with a hate element. One more point

Anyone who drives at innocent people in a car is scum.

We have grown used to different terminology used for such events. Apparently, these days, it is only a 'hate crime' if the perpetrators are White and it is only terrorism if they are Muslim.
Frankly, the only thing surprising about this sort of attack is that it doesn't happen more often. That is due to British tolerance. The most tolerant country you will find.
Imagine if Christians arrived in pakistan or some other hardcore Islamic country in large numbers and demonstrated against the army, raped young Muslim women and built churches in every town. Imagine what would happen.
