I'm heading out there... What's the 'must see and do' in Vienna?

I'm a blind man, i'm a blind man, now my room is cold,
When a blind man cries, Lord, he feels it from his soul.

It means nothing to me

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I worked for most of 2015 in Vienna and the 3rd Man, Belvedere Museum tours are worth doing. Great beer everywhere, the Schweizerhaus in Prater is famous for pork knuckle and good beer and was the place recommended to me as the must go to place, it didn't disappoint.

beat me to it Mr Kipling, I spent a day there, all the famous architecture is this ott baroque, it's not mad art like Prague, more opulent imperial and garish, had a coffee, bacon and eggs and some choccy cake in one of their classy all day cafes, they didn't do a 'full Austrian' which was disappiointing but lovely nosh décor and atmosphere, regretted I didn't visit all the lanes and the abstract arty left wing dada mad places, St Stephen's cathedral is weird and interesting

The Schwarze Kamel (black camel) a converted apothecary to eatery in the old town, and the absolutely tiny Irish pub in same. A must do is to have tea at Sachers , and have the famous Sacher tourte (al chocolaté).

Enjoy

Oh and of course Viener Schnitzel

I forgot the Naschmarkt - if the weather is good, lots of alfresco dining, the market is ok, it was the restaurants that I thought were great.

When are you going? and for how long
Anywhere inside Innere stadt is the centre lots to see and do.Most of your sightseeing will be in this district except for Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere and
Praterstern. The Bermude Triangle best place for drinking and partying which is next to Schwedenplatz Metro Station by the Danube river. Wien is expensive place.Best bratwurst stall is by Albertina’s, Schnitzel Figure Mullers, A very good restaurant is Plachutta
There is 5 of them all around Wien. Good paddy pub Flanagans, It's a wonderful city for 4-5 days you'll have a great time.
