I know, I know, it’s crazy season now and there are going to be all sorts of suggestions. Some ridiculous, some thought provoking. People have already mentioned Walcott (in my eyes is too one dimensional) but from what I can see no one has mentioned Danny Welbeck.

-Not playing at Arsenal
-Will be wanting to break back into the England World Cup squad
-Has pace and power to fit in alongside our counter attacking players
-Is a proven Premier League goalscorer
-Yes, he’s struggled with injuries but all the more reason Wenger might loan him out (aware we’d have to free up a loan slot)
-He wouldn’t necessarily have to move geographically
-Has scores 3x more goals than Benteke who has played more than double the minutes of Welbeck this season

Just wondering what other’s thoughts are...?

Ooooooh, man, I'm getting so excited at the thought only!!
It MIGHT be possible, but not probable. He is 4th choice forward at Arsenal (behind Sanchez, Ozil and Iwobi). He might also play as center forward, but there are already Lacazette and Giroud there this season. He is ahead of Walcott in Wenger's view and if someone is going to leave this winter it's going to be Walcott.
But it will also depend on what Welbeck himself wants. IF he pushes for a move himself, it might be possible.
It also depends on what will happen with Sanchez. If he leaves this winter it will be very difficult to get Welbeck, even though a replacement like Lemar comes in. They will not want to lose Welbeck too.

A player i've admired for a while and thought the same when i saw him on the bench last night. Yes he has had his injuries, but he'd bring that mobility and eye for goal up front that Benteke doesnt at the moment.

He'd actually be a good foil for benteke as well as he'd do all the movement allowing Christian to occupy the CB's...it'd also allow Wilf to go on the wing and for RLC to come in more central.

£20m should do the trick

Now that would be delicious but cannot see him leaving the arse for us ... even if we could afford it.

He would be perfect, but the injuries. Oh dear lord the injuries.

he would certainly give Conor Wickham competition for the most time spent on the sick panel and I'm not sure the club could afford the insurance premiums for lost wages etc.

Lots of reports in the press this morning of Welbeck being lined up in Jan for 10mil. Id certainly welcome him. He's quick, and knows where the goal is (it definitely helps )

Not the greatest in the league but then again may look a better player at our level, 10million isn't a lot if we can afford it....

I'd love Welbeck. I think he'd be decent up front and would work well with Zaha.

Much better than what we have.

agree, get him in. This is exactly the type of striker we should be looking at right now - proven in the PL. (of which there's not many!) Will give CB proper competition - which could be what he needs.
Is not a back-to-goal hold up striker, so is different to CB and will give us a plan A and B when CB is back.

Welbeck working with Zaha, Meyer and Townsend can only be a good thing.

The only thing i'd worry about is his wage demands.

We would be mad to go for Welbeck. Have to sell Wickham first or build a bigger treatment room!
At Arsenal he can be afforded the luxury of mostly coming off the bench and a couple of starts. Has he ever played 90 minutes for them yet?
At Palace we need a striker who is a bloody striker! Robust, available to start every week and of course not injury prone!
