Center forward Mbwanna Samatta, 26 years old, top scorer of Belgium last year and champion with Genk. Is supposed to play in the Champions League with them, but will probably move. They demanded as little as 10 million for him and supposedly will accept a 9 million offer from Turkish champions Galatasaray.

32 goals and 6 assists last season.

8 goals and 4 assists the season before that (he was fighting for a starting position with Nikolaos Karelis, another very good center forward, but who unfortunately had a very nasty injury)

21 goals and 6 assists the season before that.

The Belgian league has developed quite well in the last years. I know why, but I don't want to get into detail here. I just want to say that it's on par with the Turkish or Russian or Dutch leagues and that Samatta is on par or even better than options Neal Maupay or Alfredo Morelos (though 26yo does not have the same re-sale value as 23yo ).

His movement and speed and pressing and defensive skills are also very good. Opposed to Maupay or MOrelos, Samatta is tall enough to play as a center forward. Has at times been deployed as winger too, but rarely in the last years.

I have no idea how he'd obtain a work permit, but I've found numerous reports linking him to Premier League teams this summer: Aston Villa, who also bought center forward Wesley from the Belgium league (though he cost 15 million, while Samatta is available for 10 and even a better scorer), Leicester, Watford, Burnley, Brighton, as well as other European teams Lazio Roma, Schalke or Lyon.

He is rated at 12 million and there was an 11 million demand a month ago, but in the last days the rumoured sum is 9-10 million.

With so many English clubs wanting him and even bidding, I think they know of a way for him to get a work permit. Tanzania is not in the FIFA Rankings Top 50 and I don't know of him having Belgium citizenship, but I might not have all the data.

Then I am bitterly disappointed ...

I tried to look up if he has another citizenship, but I came up empty handed. Maybe you can find something.

Odd that so may PL squads want him though if he can't get a work permit.

Brighton have signed three players so far that can't get UK work permits, they'd probably be in the market for a fourth.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

Not for this type of sum, no.

Who are you referring to?

I think it's South American starlets Billy Arce and Alexis McAllister and South African striker Percy Tau, right?

McAllister is just 20 yo and will go on loan to Boca Juniors, surely making the Argentina U20 squad at least once or twice to be eligible for a work permit next year.

Billy Arce was/still is a great hope of Ecuadorian football. I think they are a Top 50 ranked team and they paid very little for him, just 0.8 million.

Percy Tau was also a cut-price deal, they'll get a profit even if he doesn't get a work permit in the next years, but South Africa might just make FIFA Top 50 rankings.

They signed youngsters Mlakar and Baluta this summer. Both Slovenia and Romania are in the European Union.

In the case of Samatta, Aston Villa and the rest of PL clubs seem confident on getting a work permit straight away.

He is subject of a bid from Club Brugge.
