As the start of this season marks 40yrs of continuous membership of the top two divisions in English football for Palace.I think we can be very proud of this achievement considering we have suffered two administrations in this time as well.Not 100% sure but I can only think of seven other clubs that have achieved this.Can you name them?

Swear we had this question a few weeks back... Aston villa Everton Newcastle..? West ham..? Tottenham Arsenal Some others I know coventry city were right up there once, but once relegated these things can fall apart very quickly. There's defin�tely been times when luck more than judgement have stopped us dropping as far Wolves, Man City, Leeds, Sheff Utd, Nottingham Forest etc have

I know coventry city were right up there once, but once relegated these things can fall apart very quickly. There's defin�tely been times when luck more than judgement have stopped us dropping as far Wolves, Man City, Leeds, Sheff Utd, Nottingham Forest etc have

Man Utd, surely. Also, our first season in the old div 2 was 1977/78, therefore 2019/20 will be our 43rd season, won't it, not our 40th? Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Also, our first season in the old div 2 was 1977/78, therefore 2019/20 will be our 43rd season, won't it, not our 40th?

Since 1977-78 (42 years) ten clubs have never been lower than the top two division they are; Palace, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Aston Villa.

Villa were promoted from the 3rd division at the end of 1971/72 and haven't been back to the third tier since.

Thanks for the correction,but would have been our 41st season as only two years out from your correct year.I somehow got mixed up with our promotion to the top division in 1979.

Blimey was it that long ago,I thought they had been in the third tier in the early eighties when Brian Little was manager.
