100% agree, Cryst. Words are words and violence is violence. If a tiny minority shout racial slurs from the terraces, just ban these socially inept types and be done with it. Yelling out the n word and the like at a match speaks for itself and acting out violently against that would just drag the players below their level. It'd be a sad day if we started seeing that, there should be no justification for it from Crooks or anyone else.

As for online, I'm in line with Hrolf's previous words. Many of those racially abusing Rashford and Pogba online likely aren't even in the UK. Out of hundreds of millions of social media users a few are always going to offer hateful contributions, it's unavoidable. Players should just block or report abusive accounts, not make a big public event of it or feed the media frenzy. It's not Headline material and all publicity achieves is to embolden other racist idiots and assorted inadequates engaging in gutter behaviour.

As with most things in life, a pragmatic approach makes the most sense.
