Anyone ever hired someone out to make hatch bigger and strengthen joists what's a reasonable or average price?

According to this the day rate is around £150 plus materials so it will depend on how long the job will take.

You'll be looking at about £100-150 to re-size your loft hatch and then another £150 for a new ladder (if required).

£100 Labour for a tradesman to come round , make a loft hatch bigger , sort the joists , put a new frame in , new door with ladder attached and put new architrave up? I’d be thinking nearer £400 labour and materials. Unless they are short of work due to the virus.
Might get a handy man or youngster for a oner.

Be careful to get someone who's experienced.
Resupporting joists isnt like many other jobs.
This could involve minor structural work and should be done by professionals.

It's hard to fit bodies through the small hatches and the original ladders won't take the weight.

The smell of decomposition is also a problem in the warm weather

Where do you live, Poland?

I don’t know anyone who gets out of bed for less than a ton
