due to the lack of goals at home games i have decided not to renew my season ticket.
i work hard all week im afraid i can think of better things to spend my money on.
i dont mind loosing but is it too much to expect a few goals at home games.

Some people are sooo precious anyone would think that football is about entertainment.

I don't blame you hard time are ahead for a lot of people and a season ticket is one of the few bills people can do without.

Exactly - it is about entertainment. You wouldn't go to a cinema and pay £10 to watch a blank screen, or go to the theatre and watch an empty stage. This last year has been the most turgid I can remember and I've had a season ticket since the dark days of the mid-80s.

I totally understand why someone would not wish to renew their season-ticket for the reasons stated.

We might have survived but supporters have been very 'short-changed' in the entertainment stakes.
Some whom I have been in communication recently believe that even with an influx of players, with Hodgson in charge the same dire football will continue. They simply do not look forward to seeing us play anymore.

Willo can you tell us when was the last time (If ever) we went through a whole season without scoring more than 2 goals in a game? (Yes I know we still have two games to go and pigs might fly etc. but humour me if you can)

Last season we scored 5 against Bournemouth winning 5-3 in the final game.
The previous season we defeated Leicester 5-0 3 games from the finish and in the previous home game we defeated Brighton 3-2.

Last season the first goal I think I saw us score from open play was in February vs Man U and the first home win was in March.

Admittedly, I missed a few games, but an awful return on a season ticket.

Like many, I don't mind watching us lose to a better team. But when we are meant to be chasing the game and don't throw on attacking players to at least try and get a result it does my head in.

Remember when we were losing 1-0 to Millwall at home under Dowie years back, we got a corner at the end of the game and he was putting our keeper up for it. We still lost, but at least we were willing to try and get something out of the games.

Only 3 subs again last night.

Yes but last season we also put 3 past Liverpool, Citeh, Burnley, Arsenal and Cardiff (all away) and 4 past Leicester also away at the King Power. This season we haven't scored 3 in a game yet so we're unlikely to see a goal fest from us in either of our last two games

As Willo has failed miserably to come up with an answer to this I will do likewise. But, I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be a first.

I checked back to our very first season in the top flight in 1969/70 when we only won a miserable 6 games in a 42 game season. Even then we did manage to score three on one occasion (against Stoke). I am sure this has never happened in all the seasons I have followed Palace, starting in 63/64.

Thanks Pete. Knowing Palace they'll shock us by scoring three tonight or on Sunday.

I admit that emotionally I can be very 'Miserable' at times (Especially after a defeat) and can be found cerebrally wanting on several occasions.

Having now understood the question, I don't have a definitive answer to hand but I would not be surprised if we have never completed a whole season without scoring more than 2 games in a match.
