This is another inditement on the PL, that a talented young player sees more opportunity abroad. He will be playing in a top european league with european football.

Liverpool have given very little time to any of their young players unless it was in games they thought didnt matter. Man City have used Foden very sparingly. Chelsea have given youth a chance but only since Lampard came in. Leicester have used Harvey Barnes though not every game. Wolves import their players. Man Utd do have some young players playing regularly.

Our stance is well known.

Dortmund are the most attractive club in the world to a young prospect like that; I don’t think it’s necessarily a slight on the Prem.

Liverpool have won the league with Trent as a regular, Foden has racked up 35 apps in all comps, United have used Greenwood and Williams pretty regularly, Chelsea have a whole spine of academy kids in the first team. Arsenal have had Saka, Nelson and Nketiah quite heavily involved of late.

Chilwell is a key player for Leicester, Barnes is a regular by any definition, Choudhry a regular squad player and this Thomas kid has now had a couple of games.

Everton have given that Gordon a couple of games, Holgate a regular for them and Kenny broke through before that.

Plenty of opportunity if you’re good enough.. except maybe at Palace.

I too have scored over 700 goals in non-league football.

Most of the pitches however had jumpers for goalposts.

700 goals! Who the hell did he play for? I mean, I could look it up but it sounds like a lot. Surely some kind of record there.
The most prolific I ever saw was Kim Casey, who would have definitely cut it at a higher level but just didn't want to.
Last I saw him he scored a first half hat trick and he was around 38 then. Probably 60 now.

Thanks, I know and have been to a lot of those grounds supporting Kidderminster Harriers. Certainly been to Halesowen in the FA Cup and Bromsgrove Town. Crap teams and can hardly be called grounds. Stood on the grass at Halesowen Town.

Apropos Kidderminster, I recall Jan Molby being their manager at one time.

If my memory serves me well, he signed Mark Yates who went on to play a significant amount of games for the club and also managed the club.Mark Yates was the manager of Cheltenham when I went to see them play.
