Shocked to see that Palace are fourth favourite for relegation, with odds around 3/1. The top three are Fulham, West Brom and Villa.
I would have thought that once our full defence is back in place, we are a solid mid-table team. And even with an improvised defence, we saw off Southampton yesterday anyway.
Which teams other than the three named above do we see as relegation contenders?

We have much better players than most pundits give us credit for, apart from those who really know the club like Clinton Morrison. There are some like Jamie Redknapp who do praise our quality. I think we are easily a top 10 team

Who cares? We're always one of the favorites. There are the top 6, then Leicester, Everton, Wolves, that leaves 11 teams fighting relegation.

I dont see why you should be shocked, we got 1 point from 24 in the last 7 games from last season

I like the signings we have made, if Benhrama comes in, would possibly make us top 10, if on the other hand Zaha goes, we would in my opinion, still be relegation candidates.

On BETFAIR exchange which is more accurate, efficient and doesn’t run these kind of ante post bets at a possible loss leader show there’s not a lot in it between the clubs usually above the relegation zone like us and Newcastle and West Ham, which is what you’d expect. Too difficult for outsiders to say who’ll finish 14-17 or thereabouts and of course some teams have thick and thin patches.

However, the bookies might have looked at our finish last season rather than deeper into transfers and holes filled.

Villa beat us convincingly at the end of last season. I think Fulham and West Brom will go down. The final relegation spot is wide open.

Judging by yesterday's performance, Wet Spam.

Also I think the Weed will finish below us although their players have had a year to get used to Potterball, so may not get relegated.

Burnley may fall if they lose Tarkowski and don't strengthen.

Although Sheff Utd have bought players, not sure they will be able to repeat last year's performance, so another candidate to finish below us.

I therefore see at least 7 teams finishing below us leaving us at least 13th.

What Roy and the team showed yesterday is that with a trio of quality attacking players you can undo the modern obsession with the press. Leave 7/8 players in our own half to deal with their threat and then hit long diagonals/down the line. Last season we lacked that and so didn't carry a big threat. Once Eze is match fit and with Bats to come in we could pick off some big guns this season if we can improve the long passes. From the outside I would probably have put us in and around the relegation spots, but from the inside I think we are suddenly looking like a very balanced team.

Good post. Am looking forward to how we play once we have our new boys fully up and running. I wonder whether some of those pressing teams will be a bit more cautious against us, though.

I saw a style that was unusual for us.
Looking for the through ball and attacking from half way. A key in this I think is milo. If roy puts him more to an attacking mindset imo that would crack it. Maybe with batman and eze and wilf if he stays the key to a good season is there.
McCarthy is a player who will take one for the team and so he should. Break up the play as we should be lightning on the break with those up front.
Next week is the acid test. Play well against manure with a constant threat and confidence in our ability with grow.

Maybe the bookies think Wilf will go.

If he did, and if nothing else changed, I'd happily take 4th bottom.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.
