Really poor yesterday, started poorly and never really got going.

Reminded me of the terrible performances late last season away at Villa and Leicester.

We looked like we had no attacking plan and the passing and movement was woeful. Felt sorry for Mateta although his first touch didn't help the situation!!

I know we have a few injuries but you just can't play Cahill and Dann together - both are just too slow (guessing if the game was on Saturday and not moved to Monday Roy wouldn't have played both).

Luka really struggling in the centre of the park (Jairo not great yesterday too) but with injuries Roy has few options.

Wings are also a problem. Andros' form is shocking and although Eze is a great prospect he disappears from games and defensively he is very poor. I would prefer to see him stay central.

Everybody knows Leeds are strong down the right. Their winger is a great player and Asling never stops running. Was the plan for PVA to help out? Couldn't understand what his game plan was. Offered nothing going forward and rarely helped out Mitchell.

These bad performances rank with some of the worst I've seen in 41 years of supporting Palace. The main thing is lack of effort and courage. We've had two or three performances and a few last season that can only be described as pathetic and feeble. We best hope the bottom teams don't improve too much because we are worse than them in these matches, much worse.

I'm going to make a mint by placing substantial bets on the opposition in all this season's remaining games. Not really.

Do we really need yet another thread on exactly the same subject?

For years I have been complaining on and on about our non-productive midfield and sympathise with whoever is the striker because they get no service.

This has not changed but we have another serious problem - a sad, disorganised and slow defence - once our strongest suit.

We are now looking a very, very sorry team.

Leeds are no world beaters but they looked composed, classy and tactically aware - we just looked pathetic.

Yes, I strongly blame the manager but now conclude that not only do we lack basic ball skills but we tactically don't have a clue either.

Many of our 29 points have been fortunate and, even more fortunate for us, none of the bottom three look like matching our points. So, barring a sensation, we are safe.

The writing was on the wall last season when we collapsed after the Bournemouth win but survived.

Unless there are big changes in management and players we won't next season.

I'm not too concerned about this season yet, apart from the standard of football being served up, but if we are to survive next season it will take a massive overhaul in the summer and I just can't see that happening.

I wouldn't even say we have been 'good' this season. We show glimpses of being good and some good play in parts but overall it's been pretty poor.

I said in a post a few weeks back... I just don't think our squad is very good. We have some cracking individuals but our squad is pretty poor for premier league standards.

However my main point of contention is...I look at Leeds yesterday with jealousy, strong powerful running with energy and pace. Everything I want palace to be! We will never have the most skillful players in the league but what I do expect to see is always matching the opposition for aggression/determination/enthusiasm, things that pretty much all players can possess if they want it enough.

I am still in the Roy in until end of the season camp but waning more than ever, i think a new manager might give our squad a kick to earn their place under new management.

ERM actually by beating Bournemouth we had already survived so the rest was irrelevant.

Last season after 23 games we had 30 pts.
At this juncture last season the bottom three clubs had 17,20 and 22 pts.
The current bottom three have 11,12 and 15 pts with Fulham on 15 pts having a game in hand.

Well, you know what they say about past performance not guaranteeing future returns. We are supposed to be embarking on a run of 'easy' matches during which we would be wise to garner at least nine points as the end of season run-in is too demanding. If we play like we did last night we won't beat Burnley.
Leeds were just too quick for our old stagers. I was amused to hear Roy Hodgson mention our inability to pass. Nothing new about that then. Either practice it more or bring in players who can master that particular skill. It's depressing that we don't seem to value players with 'craft' and 'guile'. None of that since Cabaye, really. It's not to be confused with 'flair', which does get a look in (Zaha, Eze).
Leeds joins Wolves and Villa in having eclipsed us over the last few seasons. All these clubs have spent in the transfer market where we have not. If you don't do that, and you don't unearth and retain home-grown talent (I'm not sure Mitchell is another Wan-Bissaka), the writing's on the wall.

It amazes me we’re actually so many points clear of the relegation zone and we were only a win from breaking into the top 10, because we really do look awful sometimes. Liverpool twice, Chelsea, Man.City, Villa,Leeds and even Brighton have totally outclassed us., so much so, it’s embarrassingly one sided. Yes we got a point against Brighton, but even they should’ve wiped the floor with us.

We just do enough against sides down the bottom to keep us out of trouble, but as soon as we come against anyone half decent, we look poor, lifeless and unable to compete
