Does anybody know what is going on with Mitchell's contract? I was under the impression that he was out of contract at the end of the season, yet this article seems to suggest that he isn't... With Arsenal rumoured to be circling surely we must be trying to tie him down to a bumper new deal behind the scenes, even if we end up selling him for decent money in a year or two.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

It is strange for there to be such ambiguity around the length of contract, its usually one of the few things that is clear. I'm not even sure if we would be due a fee if he left when out of contract. You usually get compensation if you develop a youngster who leaves before he's 23, but we got him from Brentford when they shut their academy down, so perhaps they'd be due a slice of any compensation? Anyway, hopefully the Mirror has finally got something right and he's staying.

They certainly didn't get their last paragraph right as they said that "His rise has generated comparisons with two other homegrown fullbacks who ultimately left south London in big-money moves to join English football's elite: Nathaniel Clyne and Aaron Wan-Bissaka." I seem to recall that Clyne left us for Southampton
