I've just seen a pop-up ad on HOL for a Ralph Lauren polo shirt costing £139. Is that a rip off or what? It seems well over the top to pay that much for a short sleeved, casual shirt. They're not even well made. I have bought a couple of polo shirts and their casual shirts from a RL outlet, but only at well discounted prices. The quality is really poor and certainly not worth the full retail price. I pledged not to buy again. Anyway, this poor VFM thing just struck me and wondered whether you thought differently. Is a designer label really worth having...at any price?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I’ve always found the Lacoste shirts better quality and they usually cost 60/70 quid the Bicester village outlet is usually cheap for Ralph and Lacoste

I proudly wore my favourite and most expensive designer shirt with Gootchey blazoned across it for a couple of weeks before its first wash. Only then did I find the ex-England cricketer's clothing line never took off
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Never got the label thing. Your just being shafted most of the time, quality plain white tee shirt, £9.95, quality plain white tee shirt with a tick on it £29.95.

There are designer brands and then there are designer brands which don't have Boss, CK, and the usual suspects emblazoned upon them. I have a pair of Meyer jeans, beautifully made with exquisite detail. The best bit is, they're more exclusive than the High Street designer stuff. While not designer in the expected sense, I like Crew Clothing offerings which are reliably good quality.
