Chucked in the towel at derby.
Too much pressure or not enough experience ?

The poor sod only had about 5 first team players left and no sign of anyone buying the club. He's done an excellent job there with no resources but it isn't surprising that he's jacked it in now.

I'm sure that he won't remain unemployed for long

Kudos to Rooney I thought he's handled this very well, whatever your personal thoughts about him are.
In fact I'd say he's handled it a lot better than some of Palace's Ex Managers with Allardyce, Pulis & Dowie springing to mind.
I agree with Midland he'll have no shortage of suitors with him maybe picking up a managerial job at a lower league level that can possibly pay dividends.

There’s a few others factors in the equation but Rooney’s Derby stint has elevated him seriously in my estimations.

His life was not his own from a early age and he’s had his fair share of dramas’ ups and downs.

I’ve a lot more respect for him now certainly where I didn’t before.

In my opinion he looks a better managerial prospect than Lampard and I said that Everton should have pushed harder for him when replacing Benitez. He has that work ethic and absolute desire to win that, to me, suggests he'll do well. These days you can bring in a top coaching team to back you, so I think the ability to lead is the key. He has that. I'd be surprised if he isn't managing in the PL within the next few years.

I read last week, that he is going to study for the UEFA 'C' license so he can manage in Europe's top leagues.

Some players go into management and then realise just how hard it is and lose interest.

Rooney has had a baptism of fire and has come through it with his reputation intact. He has a career in football management if he wants it.

I completely agree. I always thought he was a bell end, grannie shagger who played for a bunch of whining thugs. Now, he is still those things, yet a decent manager who didn't walk away from the travails of, probably, the worst job in the league.
He made a decent fist of it. Which is more than what can be said about many of his sexual partners.

Probably could have fit a fist in it from what I read.

But yeah, I get the impression Rooney has gone in to it for purer footballing reasons than anything else. There's a certain humility to what he took on and I admire that.
