doi209 Fighting for the weak and innocent... 12 Oct 22 5.28pm | |

I received an email from my supplier telling me of the new prices to pay per kwh of electricity and gas. British Gas suggest high gas usage is 17000kwh/pa for a 5 bed house with 4-5 people for hot water and heating. We are 2 people who shower each day and maybe 1 bath/week and our estimation is to be a whopping 31000kwh/pa. A new boiler was installed 2 years ago and is being checked next week. How does this compare to other beds / occupants ? We are frugal ( no heating on yet !!).

As a rule of thumb I use 0.095 m3 per Kw/h. Edited by cryrst (12 Oct 2022 9.16pm)

That seems excessive. My estimate is 23K and I have a similar size house. Do you have nest or hive?
