And get a different striker? He just doesn't do it for me and i think he is the wrong fit for our team. Too much focus on high balls to who is an average player these days and has never really been that good villa player we knew since he signed for us. We could still get a lot of dosh for him.

No, we are not in a position to sell. There are not any good strikers for sale in January, if there are the price will be inflated due to our position.

Transfer fee inflation is crazy though so it wouldn’t really represent money back. I say keep him and let him find form, exactly the sort of player we need if we can get him firing again.

If Chelsea (or Everton) are willing to cough up enough, ship him out. OK, he's "rusty" after injury, but no more rusty than he has been all season. Probably on minus for confidence as well...

If we get our wingers wide (and on the right sides ) , putting in early crosses for him, we may get the best out of him. (Which is what sam did). Just needs a couple of goals, his confidence is rock bottom at the moment.

And that right there is why Tekers hasn't been bothering his arse - if Wickham were fit, Hodgson wouldn't pick him ahead of Benteke because Benteke would be turning up. However by Saturday he ought to be properly fit again and we do have one option for dropping him, two up front with Wilf and Townsend. That does mean Townsend turning up though. The same arrangements with Puncheon instead of Townsend don't bear thinking about.

You don't just become a bad striker. Give the guy a chance for crying out loud. He started the season under a manager that didn't suit him at all, then got injured and just started his first game for months. The guy's a weapon...just needs a game or two to get his eye in. Some people.
