With Frank going and the new manager coming in old round and around and around in circles puncheon must be rubbing his hands together in the knowledge he can continue stealing a living as a footballer as it will take another 20 games for the new man to see how crap he is

Every manager seems to love him and make him the first player on the team sheet. If we are to make any progress, he has to be dropped. A midfield of Cabaye, Luca or McArthur and RLC would be be a much better prospect.

I don't know who the new manager will be or what his team will look like, but one thing I'm confident of is that Punch will continue to start every week. It's like a law of nature.

He seems to talk a lot when on the pitch, can only think that the managers see this and think he's organising and motivating the team hence the captaincy. For the life of me I cannot see any other reason to keep him in the first 11.

That is unfair punch gives his all steal a living he does not. Should he have a spell on the bench? i think so but we are short on numbers so he has a good chance to start most games.

like most of our players he needs the right players around him to be effective. one thing i have noticed is that as he gets older hes not been dropped he is doing the age old trick of dropping further down the pitch...he still gets picked tho, which tells me he is hugely influential on and off the pitch. i would prob start him above jimmy mac, but not cabaye/luca/rlc but hey, what do i know...obvs not as much as fdb or sam, i can however see why he was made captain
