I think I prefer the good old days when we had 4 channels and we all watched the same stuff,
And if tv was crap we either played a board game, went for a drive in the car or went to bed....

Surely you mean one or at the most, two channels

I have a million channels on Sky plus Netflix but still struggle to find something worth watching

The biggest problem is because there are so many channels concentrating on programmes to see if you like it rather than watching 10 seconds and thinking I don't like that and changing.

Yes, there are a lot of rubbish programs, I find a good way is go on the official site and look at the TV guide to look down at the programmes that on at the time, you may find something that looks like you will like. Admit are you a Bee Gees fan, even though it started at 10.00 it finishes @ 12.15, 1989 live in Manchester on Sky Arts.

Also what programmes are going to be on soon. Are you a motorbike fan?, as on ITV4 at 12.00, there is a prog called Dirtquake Motorbike Festival, maybe rubbish.

I used to watch the History Channel but now that is worse than E4. Everything is a fake reality programme. May as well film my days and screen that - I have the odd argument and hissy fit, yet I am not confused about my gender.

Although there's all those channels to choose from, I bet I watch channels 101 to 105 90% of the time.

the other 10% is babestation !

If you went through all the channels and picked out the best programmes I think the overall quality of programmes available is as good as, if not better, than the so called golden days of TV when we just had BBC1 BBC 2 and ITV, and then Channel 4.

If you watch some repeats from 40/50 years ago they do look rather creaky and wouldn't pass muster today - production techniques have come a long way since then.
The problem is locating the good stuff amongst the piles of dross.

What is annoying is the habit of doing something to death. The Antiques Road Show was/is fine, but all the endless spin-off antique/collectable programmes is plain tedious. And don't get me started on food programmes...

One particular grouse I have is the lack of variety on film channels. Every evening seems to entail re-showings of Men in Black, Diehard films, X-men etc. Surely with the enormous back catalogue of great cinema they could come up with something more imaginative.

What you really mean is that there is nothing on TV to your taste which is somewhat different
