Just been reading that every 26 days things double in price.
Inflation for the last year is approximately.
Get this 1,000,000%
How do you square that circle.
I would ask is that a result of a socialist government or bad luck with oil prices, as this has dropped in the last few years.

It's the result of the dictator being an absolute nutcase.

They're knocking 5 zeros off of the currency on Monday when they relaunch the Bolivar. In his wisdom he has decided to make this day a bank holiday, so no one will be able to actually get the "new" currency.

And it's caused a refugee crisis and frantic shutdown of borders across the continent, that if in Europe would be front page news with accusations of biblical proportions.

Optimistic as ever

No hmmmmm about it. He's pegged the "new" currency to something that doesn't even exist.

They're in a far worse state than Greece.

So why don't the press ask Corbyn and Watson what they think about the current situation? Is this what they want for the UK?

When Chavez was alive he started this mess by forcing the shops to sell goods at low prices. Big surprise most businesses closed up rather than do that and it then created a massive black market. He nationalised various companies without paying proper compensation so foreign investment dried up.

We now have thousands of Venezuelans fleeing the country and this is over spilling into their neighbours causing problems with them.

A complete mess and the average person is worse off today, this is a high price to pay for political dogma.

No doubt the supporters will blame it on the capitalists, USA and the Jewish conspiracy etc.

We have been warned.

Just to add, he nationalised MNCs specifically in the oil industry, which since them seems to have only perpetuated their issues. As someone who was an advocate of 'socialism' just 3 years ago (cut me some slack I was 18!), its staggering to see the lack of attribution to the reasoning - his regime. Socialism/Communism does not work, next.

I went to Zimbabwe 12years ago and for $20 got 2 x carrier bags full of Zim...it was mental!

I tried to pay for an orange in the local SPAR with a million Zim note and waiting for change...and the cashier just looked at me...only to then open the cash register and show me that mine was the only note in there!

I left a carrier bag full of cash when i left as I couldnt carry it over the border to Zambia!

I can't compete with that, but I was in South America in the 80s and the price for everything in the shops was put on a blackboard as what a bar of soap or packet oh crisps cost in the morning bore no relation to the price in the afternoon.

Ever thought about the UK ?

Instead of Venezuelan inflation, care to tell us about UK debt private and public ????????

If we were discussing debt, corruption, crime, censorship, one of the worlds least democratic countries, would that be Venezuela or the UK?

Debt in this country is primarily optional.
Don't get a mortgage or credit card or car or the like and debt won't happen to severe levels that you dream about.
What on earth has that got to do with the nuthouse that is Venezuela.
Just imagine you had a business and were told to reduce prices for your goods so the 'people' could all be equal. Now they're equally f####d so happy days in steeleyes world.
I hate antifa!
The fact the UK is democratic allows you to voice what you just did and tell me a country without corruption, crime and censorship.
You are irony in motion ha ha.
