He's expressed that it was a stupid thought in a moment of rage, but the bandwagon is rolling. Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut. At what point did he think that this was a good thing to come out with ?

Why say it? Does the world need to be told that he had irrational thoughts in a time of stress like he was the first one? Typical celebrity narcissism. I'm guessing that there were about 5 Black people living in his town at the time but If he hasn't figured out that free speech is a thing of the past in 2019 then he probably never will at his age. This has been taken out of all context as per usual, as the liberal left media gets a sniff of an opportunity to label someone racist (as is the fashion these days). Nice to see the pile on has started in earnest as we all look to outdo eachother to prove we're more virtuous than the next person... He was talking about how he got into character for his latest film and regaled a story of rage from his past. He confessed to feeling ashamed and made the insightful social commentary that he had a racist thought driven by ignorance, propegated by incorrect societal stereotypes. John Barnes, amongst others, has praised him for speaking honestly and openly and hoped that a pile on wouldn't deter others from confronting their own unconscious racism.

Storm-in-teacup response from the tabloids for an actor who has lost both his wife and nephew in tragic circumstances and who has commented about a 'loved friend' having been raped. Whose head wouldn't be turned fleetingly with rage after all of that?

Roll up, roll up Liam Neeson is the next one. Says something stupidly candid about an irrational reaction and we will no doubt see him 'unpersoned' from Hollywood. He's made his money many times over....and had real tragedy in his life. So should he really actually give a feck? Let's just hope that he doesn't give a grovelling apology.....he explained himself in the actual interview.

There was nothing wrong with what he said in the context in which he said it but he must know that you can't speak honestly about such things without poking the hornet's nest of reactionaries and the professionally outraged.

Surely the man who takes on kidnappers and terrorists and bludgeons them into submission with his bare hands won't apologise. Clint would never apologise.

I saw what Neeson said and think it's disgusting,I hope people of all colours boycott his films and all actors and actresses refuse to be in any of his films as a show of solidarity. His on good morning America sometime this week. He'll probably say one of my friends is black so I'm not racist.

Good grief I haven't seen the footage or full detail but ... If a rape was undertaken by a black person clearly it isn't right to punish all black people, like they are homogenous and all responsible for each other. The point was made that Neeson, specifically, has said something considered to be heinous. It is rational to hold that against him as an individual. The suggestion is not that it should be held against everyone called Neeson, everyone that looks like him or everyone that comes from Yorkshire (apparently where the highest number of Neesons come from).
