remember England getting beaten by iceland. Well , it did give me a giggle. But seriously, this isnt funny seeing the club i love being managed by a bloke with a track record worse than Goldman-Sachs. will the squad understand his south-london accent ? if he takes a wander down to Croydon, will he get nostalgic for all the craters from the blitz ? has he ever tried the jerk chicken from thornton heath ? did sven goran ericsson leave any naughty underwear in the desk at soho square ? when he last graced our stadium , did all the players wear flat caps and smoke tobacco pipes on the pitch ? Who in football should be enjoying their retirement? Who if stating they are hoping to survive in their role is more likely to be referring to their mortality than employment status? There's probably more.

Factors such as availability of players, the amount of time the team actually plays together etc all make the two distinctly different.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Can We Pleeeeease Start Learning From Our Mistakes' by Guntrisoft Ok, so it's Woy. I'm not happy about it, nor about the way FdB has been treated; however I think it's now important to start learning from our mistakes. If the rumours are true..Woy is on a 2yr deal, so what I'd like to see is the Director of Football and Chairman draw up a list of Managers to succeed Woy (whenever that may be) NOW Not, when Woy walks or is pushed; but NOW. And the list needs to be maintained EVERY 8 weeks!! We've all seen that SP's due diligence has left a lot to be desired of late, so at least having a list will give us/him a head start. Will Benteke be taking them too? Does he agree with his predecessors that Puncheon should start? How will he deal with Gylfi when he's playing for a team that has other players in it as well, given that he made a total arse of dealing with him when he was the only accomplished player on the opposing side? What is his health like, given that he's nearly 80?

Problem is he was managing better players than he'll have at Palace against inferior opposition to most Premier League teams! He also wouldn't give Wilf the time of day as England manager and now he needs him to keep him in a job!
