Make sure you get down to Aldi and get a card for your partner. Maybe even some flowers. You may even get lucky tonight. And happy Valentine's Day to all of the HOL.

Not this day again.

It's alright for the first five years.....but after that it's just like frigging Santa Claws.

If I presented my dear wife with flowering blossoms or a card she would conclude that I have a guilty conscience.
She might deem me a 'Decent egg' but would never file me under the category 'Romantic'.

Sounds like you have a sensible woman there.

We need to clone sensible women and stick frigging chastity belts on the crazies.

Not that sensible given that the dear lady has stayed with me for nearly 38 years and remained married to me for nigh on 34 years.

We certainly don't purchase birthday or christmas presents for one another and haven't done for many a moon, but my 'milk' of human kindness extends to presenting the dear lady with a card for our anniversary and her birthday.

If my wife was named 'June', I certainly wouldn't be rolling on her at my time of life.

Tonight we are going for a meal with dear friends whom we have known for over 30 years but certainly NOT because it is 'Valentines Day'.
I did comment to my dear wife that I hope that if there are people in the restaurant who know us that they will NOT conclude that I am some castrol smooth romantic who is treating my wife to a Valentines meal!

I accept however that 'Valentines Day' is special and significant to loving couples and that many will enjoy a romantic meal tonight, gazing lovingly into each others eyes.

No wonder all the singles go on those extra fancy holidays.

Chance would be a fine thing as my wife is on night shift tonight

I think you're referring to the 'love shift'.

That's 8 inches...errr...eight hours long.

But I think ME is safe....the kind of stiffs you get in hospital are rarely the romantic kind.

And aren't most male nurses.....Mmmm...you know....rainbows.
