I know this is bound to upset some but don't you think this taking the knee thing has now gone to far? Even on MOTD highlights they show this before kick off. I have just been informed by my cricket club that "we will take the knee" before games and I for one will be standing and I know I will not be alone.

of course I will now be called a racist for not kowtowing to a minority group who are shouting loud at the moment.

Yes of course I have sympathy with those affected by the brutality of the American Police but this is not anything to do with our domestic sports agenda.

Hopefully this will not become part of the pre match ritual going into next season.

I am enjoying being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB!

You can already see that in F1 majority of drivers are now not kneeling OR even turning up for the 'ceremony'. Im not too bothered bout players doing it(tho it does look contrived) im at a loss as to why the officials are doing it. There has been no instruction from the PGMOL, so WHY?

I hope come sunday we wont see it again, ever.

Fair play to you. Like raab said, only do it for the queen and the Mrs. It's beyond a joke now.

Like the now discontinued 'clapping for carers' taking the knee has served it's purpose.

A minutes silence for those who have perished in the epidemic is appropriate but the 'knee' now looks contrived and should cease.

I think the most appropriate place to take the knee is in the groin, any BLM volunteers?

Never again can it be said that politics isn't allowed in football.

They will keep doing it until someone says stop as a whole as if one player or team didn't take the knee they would be hammered on social media etc .

I like females kneeling very close in front of me, does that count?

These things are ok as a one-off protest solidarity etc.

At least you can only knock a statue down once.

Agreeing with the said act of statue removal illegally would put one in the same crowd and of the same mindset.
