The goalposts have changed. Imagine you could have taken Maggie to a workplace tribunal for bullying? The entire cabinet would have got a payout.

Honestly mate, I don't mind any opinions. I've never particularly liked the Tories myself, shock, horror. My main issue is how rubbish Labour are since Blair. Kinnock was rubbish too. I just want Labour to champion the common, decent working person - like they are supposed to. When did they just start riding roughshod over their own support? Probably the minute they got into power to tell the truth. I think the first Labour government went into massive debt over a secret nuclear programme. A programme so secret that it is how everyone else in the world got nukes too. Obviously, they did some good too.
You know Britain well enough, however, to know that Northerners don't vote Tory. But this time they did. The pie in the sky crap whilst sh1tting on their own voter base is the reason they abandoned Labour. Look at the London Mayor, or please don't look!
I'm a prime example, further shock horror, I haven't voted for Labour since John Smith was leader, won't vote Tory, just can't - so I don't vote in the UK. What's the point of the others? (sorry ardent Liberals if you actually exist). The fun part is that mine would be a postal vote!

Trump I would concede is a 'bizarre' turn in modern politics but this Priti Patel 'bullying' is a just a storm in a tea cup.

Issue to explore though is how somebody like Trump can actually not only become the President of the US but is only stopped from a second term by wide scale 'gaming' of the system (and lets all drop the pretence. Biden is going to be the next President but he only managed to beat Trump due to the extraordainary circumstances caused by Covid. And on margins so tiny as to be statisically no better than the flip of a coin)

How have we got to a situation where by people will turn out in their millions to cheer on a man as awful as Trump actually is? That is a complete failure of the US political system from top to bottom and anybody who thinks Biden represents a return to normality need their heads testing. Biden do not win, Trump lost. And there will be another Trump, and once possibly even more crazy, coming down the pipe line soon.

The polarisation is now such that we are effectively in a white civil war. One half want to cheer on globalisation, the other half feel terribly threatened by it and both sides seek to demonise the other. Just look at what has happened here since 2016? A concerted effort to over-turn the clear result of the single biggest exercice in British democracy ever. With those who do so feeling no shame whatsoever for attempting to do so. That goes beyond bizzare. That is utterly sinister.

With no solution on the horizon. A temporary cease-fire at best until one side has a chance to crap on the other.
