You have been great in taking over from the idiot before you and establishing Palace as a decent Premiership team.
We all will be in debt to you for your cool calm management and steadying the boat.. we are by far a much better team now after your management. We are an established Premier team.
I would think it fair to say that this maybe your last six months before you take a well deserved rest from the rigours of the big game .
We are in mid table .
You have nothing to lose.
Let’s give it a real go in the second half of this crazy season.
We will not go down as there are so many struggling teams, but we could really surprise a few if we have a good attacking go..
Play Wilf and Eze on opposite wings Benteke and Bats up front.. we might lose a few but at least we can be fulfilled as Palace supporters that we have had a real go.
Give it a go Roy please.....

That was just a well disguised good old moan that should've been posted in the 'Roy out'

Get into the real world.

Seems a little harsh to be critical of a fan who has the simple aspiration of seeing his team play better football.
Perhaps to follow a team that includes Eze as one of the first names on the teamsheet as opposed to one that will only be included if he ‘learns ‘ from Schlupp and Townsend.

Thanks Patrick.. I thought harsh too.
I am not or never have been in the Roy out brigade.
Just want us to be more progressive in a season where we now have an real opportunity to push on.
We put 3 past Man U,4 past Leeds and 5 past WBA in games where we were on the front foot.

We are in the bottom half of the table, with some teams below us having games in hand, we have an aged squad lacking in pace, mobility and energy so I do not feel as comfortable about our position as you are.

Of course, like you, I would like to see more progressive, front-foot football but alas I totally understand why Mr Hodgson takes a pragmatic approach and his style has seen us stay in the PL for the 3 seasons he has been at the helm.

There is so much wishful thinking in all football supporters. And the Palace support is no different.
Merely putting out teams packed with known attack minded players is OK if that theory applies to all the defensive positions as well as the recognised forward positions.. This applies to the very best sides in the world. Even they have problems at times .
Palace just don’t have that luxury . And Roy could only do what some ask for if he wants to lose his job. Because he only plays a part in taking Palace forward . It’s the club it’s self that needs to be upgraded , It’s my opinion we are a much better side than we were before Hodgson. But the improvements throughout the club are slow as the money pot is not huge. And it costs a lot to give any manager exactly what is needed to crack the Premier league top end on a regular basis playing open fan pleasing football.
So many smaller clubs try to play a more open game in the premier league , most end up relegated , some going into free fall. You could say it’s pointless as it doesn’t gather enough points to remain in the division let alone progress in the division.

I am viewed on here as a glumbucket and a merchant of doom and I accept that on occasions I have been well-versed in sucking the positivity out of a discussion on HOL.

There is a divergence between how many view the squad and how I have assessed it in terms of its strength. My view is that in general it is an aged squad with a dearth of energy, vitality, vim, vigour, mobility and pace with several players in the 'Twilight' of their careers and past their best.

We simply do not possess the players to play high-octane, front-foot football which many would like and I understand the pragmatism displayed by our very experienced manager.
There have been some dire, turgid displays but Mr Hodgson has kept us in the PL for 3 seasons on a limited spend and many will argue that the end has justified the means. He has met his objectives.

'A bird in the hand' comes to mind. Fulham's two games in hand are against Spurs (away) and another of the teams below us, Burnley. Burnley's other game in hand is against one of the Manchester clubs.

Having said that I agree with your comments in the later thread, namely that most of our players are too old or ill-equipped to play the high-pressing and more open play desired by some. If the Liverpool game taught us anything, surely it taught us that.

Nay,nay and thrice nay.
You have probably witnessed the sentiments before, however it was not ready-made and duplicated on here.

There is a saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in Shepherd's Bush".
My old 'Bird' now my wife hails from around that vicinity and on occasions used to watch Fulham play,as well as QPR when she was a young lass.
