Not that many buy stamps any more but the cost of first class is going up to £1.25 in October. We'll all end up paying for it.

The Royal Mail as opposed to the Post Office is kaput.

When the posties went on strike I suspect most of us said "so what all I ever get is bills anyway".

If the government wants the service to survive then I'm afraid the universal postage system has to go. It's not fair on the Royal Mail that they charge the same to send a letter within say the M25 and one from Lands End to John O'Groats.

All good points

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I think the rise is due to the storage charge for keeping your letters weeks before delivering them.

Unfortunately, it's the price we pay for using online communications rather than giving the fountain pen an outing. The Royal Mail needs revenue even though services are reduced so the good old stamp is the obvious means of garnering income.

The only times I use a stamp is for sending Birthday/Anniversary/Christmas cards.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Yup but the youngsters don't even do that. It's an E-Card or a text message.
