With the first home game less than 2 weeks away does anyone know what,if any, restrictions will be in place for admission to the ground? Do we need a Covid passport. If a passport is required will it be smartphone only,or will a paper one suffice? Is there any limit on crowd size?

I do hope I haven't missed the answer somewhere else.

Surely it doesn't matter what media it's on as long as it has a QRcode for scanning.

Having been to all home friendliest and U23 games recently I have not been asked for any proof of vaccination

I think/thought covid restrictions etc were for crowds of over 20k, hence the test pre-season games involving spurs, arse n chelski, not too sure bout Wembley last w/e.

I am wondering this myself. If they do decide to implement somthing it will be along the lines of the chelsea restrictions that came with the away tickets.

More pertinent perhaps is why the tickets for a match in 12 days time are not yet on sale?

Expect spot checks in first few games. We will need to be double vaxed or have proof of neg LF test in previous 48 hours

I think the Palace official website says the matter is being considered, but, currently, no actual policy has been announced.

I too was wondering on the subject and lo and behold, the Premier league posted this:

Premier League prepares to welcome fans back to grounds
9 Aug 2021

Return of fans
Matchday protocols created to keep supporters safe at Premier League matches this season

The Premier League and its clubs are looking forward to having full stadiums again and it is vital that everyone works together to make matchdays safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The safety of everyone involved must remain our priority. This means that while Premier League grounds will be full, the experience will be a little different to pre-pandemic matchdays.

Put simply, we do not want anyone to catch COVID-19 at a Premier League ground, or for our matches to contribute to the spread of the virus.

Return of fans
The Premier League has created matchday protocols in order to help keep everybody safe.

This includes working towards COVID-19 status certification should it become mandatory and requiring fans to comply with a Code of Conduct that will encourage good health behaviours in grounds.

See: Clubs' Codes of Conducts for fans

Proof of COVID-19 status
Fans should not attend Premier League matches if there is any risk they can pass on COVID-19.

From the start of the 2021/22 season, match-going fans should be prepared to show they have been fully vaccinated or have received a negative lateral flow test in the previous 48 hours.

Fans will be able to do this by obtaining their NHS COVID pass through the NHS app or website link.

Supporters should consult their club’s website for information regarding junior fans attending matches.

Lateral flow tests are available free from local NHS providers and some pharmacies. They can also be ordered online here.

Your matchday routine is going to be a little different to normal and the Premier League is working with clubs to introduce COVID-19 status checks in a staged way so there is the least disruption and maximum safety possible.

This will involve training for stewards and clear guidance for fans before, during and after games.

Initially, in the first few matchdays of the season, supporters can expect the introduction of random spot-checks for ticket holders at some grounds as we establish the required processes so clubs and fans are prepared for all match attenders to have their COVID-19 status checked upon arrival, should it become mandatory.

The Premier League and its clubs will continue to follow the latest Government guidance regarding all COVID-19 safety protocols.

Supporter Code of Conduct
Ticket-holders must comply with the Supporter Code of Conduct to help keep their fellow fans safe.

By taking steps including wearing masks in indoor areas, avoiding close contact with people you don’t know and following one-way signage around stadiums every fan can help those around them feel safe while supporting their team.

I think the queues will be too long for this to be implemented long term. I went to the theatre (admittedly most people were older than the usual football crowd and possible less tech savvy) and it look everyone ages to find the NHS app on their phone and show it to the poor sod on the door.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
