Various posters have alleged that our new signing is injured to the extent that he won't be available for several weeks/months.

The Walsall preview article on the club site alleges that he may 'feature in the line-up' which suggests he's fit enough to play some part in tomorrow's match.

So who is right?

I heard slight injury originally. Can't remember what. Calf strain or something.

Well it wouldn’t be a true Palace signing if he didn’t come with some niggle or other

From the other thread about him . . .

If he is out for 3 months with a back injury then it’s clearly a bad one. History shows that players who get serious injuries when young often struggle for the rest of their careers. We do seems to have a knack of this. I doubt we will ever see Ferguson play.

Rumoured to be injured:

he's just passed a very comprehensive medical. If he's injured i would suspect it is a new injury (and hopefully quite minor).

Before you say we bought Ferguson etc he failed his medical at Palace - we identified the original knee injury. This delayed the transfer for 6 months. When he did sign the original injury was only meant to keep him out for a few more months. Unfortunately he has had 2 new injuries since

If you check behind his left ear it says 'Sold as seen'

Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature.

The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace.

Can someone sort out the damn training so we can stop getting players injured before they even start the damn season.

This is getting stupid now that its laughable.

Nearly all the time now our players are getting injured in training. Something isn't working.

No doubt Willo or some other stato can confirm this or otherwise, but I think more PL players get injured in training than in matches.

Or the injuries they pick up in matches aren't bad enough to force them off the field immediately, but reveal their full impact once the adrenaline has eased off. A great many such injuries would be reported during the week, and so appear to constitute a training injury rather than a match one. Who knows?

Either way, I'm always staggered by the number of people who seem to genuinely believe that training injuries are resulted from some ongoing, widespread amateur malpractice on the part of the club. Modern world I suppose, everything has to be someones fault.

My understanding is that he has a shoulder injury, which he had when we signed him. Some reports saying he could miss first 5-6 matches
