Enough is enough

Over the last couple of years I've felt angry, furious, disgusted and contemptuous of the person who calls himself PM. But today, as I listened to PMQ, I felt a new emotion, namely, sheer embarrassment. Asked whether he had ever considered appointing his current wife to a government post - yes or no - he simply talked about the employment figures. Yes, I felt so embarrassed - for him, for the Commons, for myself and for the country - that I rushed to turn off the radio. I don't expect many others reacted in such a strange way. But enough really is enough, and I dearly hope that, helped also by two disastrous by-election results, the 1922 Committee will rule that another vote of confidence will be allowed. Changing rules is hardly something to which the arch rule breaker Johnson could object.

Sound like a pretty standard politician response to any Yes/No question to me.

The alternative just doesn't seem to be there.

When there is zero transparency (via the political process) and zero accountability (via the media) they can do exactly as they wish.

It"s like saying let the bloke who has drunk 20 pints drive the rest of the group home, because they have had 20 pints and a joint!

What a yawn.

You only have to look at the opposition front bench to see why the Tories have a massive majority.

I won't be voting but the 'at least it's not X party' angle only goes so far after a party has been in power for a decade. A party really doesn't have to do much of anything to win your vote, if where people hold this as their mantra, and it's a mantra that gets you royally mugged off, as you regularly see.

Johnson is an utter tool of the highest order. The fact that so many people see him as the least worse option is a terrible reflection of the state of British politics.

Boris has 7 kids from 3 different women. But he is absolutely not a psychopath.
