I get why some players want to keep their hands warm in the winter months but why do some players wear them at the end of April ?

And we still need a striker

Sofienne Zaaboub who played for Swindon a few years ago wears gloves all the time whilst playing due to a superstition.

Maybe thats it Willo , cant see what the superstition is with our lads though , not as if we are on a 20 game unbeaten run or anything

Maybe they are lucky gloves and one day we might find one of our own players from a throw in.

I remember a junior game my lad was involved in. One of his team mates took his gloves off and rested them on the grass to take a throw in from which the other side got possession. This lad stopped to put his gloves back on before getting back into the game. Our coach went crazy at him. Mind you, it was cold that day!

my son plays on the wing and wears gloves with grippy palms, gives him extra traction for long throw-ins.

4 playoff finals, Claridge, Hopkin, Shipperley, Phillips....

My wife, who prefers the game played with an oval ball will, without fail if she sees a player wearing gloves, say 'You never see rugby players wearing gloves, footballers are a load of pansies!'

Oh well, I learnt at school that unlike poles attract.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Rugby fans have such an inferiority complex when it comes to football. Football players are artists, rugby players are ditch diggers, and they act accordingly.

I passed your intellectual opinions on to my wife tl. It's probably best I don't tell you her response!

There was a trend about 20 years ago for rugby players to wear fingerless gloves - full gloves aren't allowed; supposedly because of the risk of finger dislocation but some players have worn them.
