Need to put the disappointment behind us and get back to business.

Newcastle were pretty compact against Liverpool and didn't give much away, but they'll try and be more on the front foot against us.

A good time to play them with Wilson out, and Guimaraes and Saint-Maximin doubts. Isak picked up a knock but is apparently likely to play.

3-1 to Newcastle. I say this every year we never get any luck up there.

Surrounded by Newcastle fans up here, all I hear is how b great they are. They moaned about the big six for years but now they’ve got money behind them suddenly that’s not relevant. I’d love it if we get something tomorrow. I’ll take a point. IF we can keep it tight for long enough we could win it. Howe has been pretty conservative with how they are set up, even at home.

It feels like they've started strongly, but they've only actually won one game and that was against a new and chaotic Forest team. They will bully us so it may well come down to how much the ref let's them get away with (a lot based on our first run of games) and how well we can match them physically. I'm glad Wilson is out as he always scores against us. I'd love us to beat them as I hate what their ownership represents, but I think we'll lose 2-0 and they will kick Zaha, Eze and Olise off the park.

We didn't get much up there when they were crap. Now they're better perhaps we'll buck that trend. That's my logic anyway.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

I too was thinking the ref will play a big part in this - and that never seems to work out well for us. When I think of away matches there, I always think they get all the decisions. If that is made even worse by their new found fame, then it could be a tough day to take. I would definitely take a point; I don't fancy us at all if they attack hard and launch the ball upfield. We seem rubbish at teams being direct against us. A couple of goals we've conceded have been awful.
I was thinking to myself, I may have even posted it, I don't want to be cruel but Guehi and Mitchell seem to have both been well off the pace since they played for England. So was Gallagher actually, but that's a different story.
We need Guehi and Mitchell back to their best. Then we're a much, much better team.

They played really well against City at St James', but some of the challenges on the likes of de Bruyne definitely walked the line and the ref really should have booked more of their players. Howe has never been afraid to have an edge to his teams and he seems to have learned the tactic of the big teams which is to foul quickly before a counter-attack can develop.
