The Fiesta, like most badged cars, are not the same car that that was initially developed all those years ago. Alternating new engines, new chassis, etc.
Like the old story of the streetsweeper who after 50 years of service still used the same broom. 12 New heads and 5 new handles and still the same broom.

I had an old MK2 Fiesta, my brother being all flash had an XR2. Took at least 10 mins to start the bloody thing on a winters morning, manual choke and all that, cost me £200 quid.

I had three mark 4 1.6L cortina’s
A red, green and white one.
My favourite cars.
I’ve had a mk2 fiesta 1.1sport. The box shape.
A few random cars when they were all £50 to £200 and £20 for a dodgy mot if needed.
Ah back in the day

About 40 years ago there used to be a garage at the bottom of Herne Hill, opposite Brockwell Park, where I was told you could get hooky MOT's. I turned up on a Sunday morning to find a queue outside. There was about 30 blokes outside (no cars). You went in, gave him your registration number, chassis number, mileage etc., payed over the top and ten minutes later walked out with a certificate.

Oh, the good old days

The Cortina Mark I was our first family-car my father bought back in 62. Still remember the long stretched speedometer but haven`t seen this kind of speedometer in any of the Mark I oldtimers since. Does anybody know by chance if that long-stretched speedometer was ever built-in in the Mark I as standard or maybe it was just a feature of the continental version of the Mark 1?

It was our family car when I passed my test. Prior to that we had a Consul, Zephyr and a Standard Vanguard but the Cortina was the first of our family cars that I drove.

It was great fun back in the day when there wasn't as much traffic on the roads

I work for Ford’s and I bought a new ST Line Fiesta a few months ago because of staff discount and all that and I love it. So my first fiesta could be my last. Puma for me next I think, I know I’m biased, but they’re a lovely car

People talking about their old Cortina’s, I had a MK 3 a MK 4 and a MK 5, I had two Orion’s in the 90’s and I had a Focus a few years ago

Made in Bromley

I forget I had an Orion. Crystal white with grey seats with red piping.

And a sierra.
